iNetPOS History & Philosophy

iNetPOS was founded by Peter Jeong on September of 2010.

Peter Jeong began his software development career as a head POS software developer for KFC Korea in 1987. His development of POS software expanded from original KFC Korea operations to all types of family restaurant-specific businesses. He even help develop the POS system for the Oil-VAN network in Korean gas stations.

In 1992, Peter began his startup company, Withus Engineering, with aims to raise it further. In 1999, Withus became a developing partner for Delphi-Delco’s MPC project. For the next two years under Peter’s leadership, Withus successfully completed its partnership with Delphi-Delco and launched its research at CES in 2001. However Delphi-Delco cancelled all its projects due to internal problems and as a result, it also ended the partnership with Withus. To this day, Delphi-Delco’s MCP Project can still be found on the internet.

With experience working in the U.S. through the MPC project, Peter emigrated to the United States in hopes of finding new challenges. He began operating a small restaurant business with little capital in hand and a family to support. As the business grew, in order to run the restaurant more efficiently, Peter analyzed the implementation of a POS software and concluded that the cost was too much for a small restaurant such as his. However he still decided to develop one for his store with the knowledge that he acquired through working at KFC Korea.

Peter encountered many problems along the way; the software developing environment had progressed a long way in his absence of 6 years, and he also had to develop the software in addition to running the daily business at his restaurant. Even though he used his know-how to assimilate himself to the new coding environment, having little time to develop the program delayed the anticipated developing time from 3~4 months to about two years.

The result is iNetPOS, a restaurant-specific POS system developed with 20 years of POS development know-how. The business philosophy of iNetPOS as a company is to help small businesses find ways to raise revenue. It provides an affordable and easy-to-use POS system and consultation for all its clients.

iNetPOS is not a company of rich history and complete products as many others may claim; even though its software does come from 20 years of software development experience, iNetPOS recognizes that software technology constantly evolves at a rapid pace. Therefore iNetPOS will also continue to tweak and update its software to the demands of the current technology.
